In business, a mission statement is a one or two sentence blurb that helps drive the company in the way that the founders envisioned. Their direction, their philosophy, their “why” for doing what they are doing. In a nutshell.
So while working towards a healthier lifestyle, why not take a page from Business 101 and apply a mission statement to yourself? If mission statements sounds too daunting, call it a mantra. Whatever works for you!
The point is to take your statement, write it down. Read it. Every day. Write it on a post-it and place it where you see it a few times each day. If you face a challenge or struggle while working towards your goals, it will bolster you and provide a much-needed boost.
Here are a few examples:
- I’m doing this for me
- I’m tired of starting over so I won’t give up
- Stay strong, eat healthy
- Progress, not perfection
- Just Do It (Nike got it right with this one)
Mine is “Be fit. Be strong. Be confident.”
Speaking of mission statement, here’s your workout for today. Day 26 Bodyweight Express Challenge Workout.
