Here are some fun facts about push ups!
An American woman named Alicia Weber holds a number of push up world records for females. 829 push ups in 30 minutes and 1020 push ups in an hour. She also holds the world record for the most performed in 10 minutes – 450 push-ups.
In the men’s category, Rolf Heck from Germany executed 2,354 push ups in 30 minutes, while Bijender Singh from India holds the world’s record for the most done in an hour – 3,877 push ups. Paul Lynch from Great Britain earned the world record for one-finger push ups by doing 124 without stopping.
Here’s your workout for today:
Warm up 3-5 minutes (walk in place, do jumping jacks, jog up and down the hall)
Perform 4 sets of push ups as follows (with a 15 second rest in between each set):10 push ups
- 10 push ups
- 8 push ups
- 6 push ups
- 4 push ups
Remember – if you are not able to do all of the repetitions in each set, cut the number in half (5, 4, 3 and 2).
